Ikkimel (bourgeois Melina Gaby Strauß) is a German rapper from Berlin-Tempelhof. Her texts are mostly provocative and shaped by explicit, often sexualized content and often deal with atzentism, parties, drugs and sex, Whereby she incorporates the background word games and questioned ironically traditional masculinity pictures. Musically, it combines hyperpop and jersey club elements with chopped beats as well as trance and house samples. She describes her style as "Fotzenstyle." She completed a combination bachelor in German philology and social and cultural anthropology with a focus on linguistics at the Free University of Berlin. In the meantime she worked in the laboratory for brain and language research (Brain Language Laboratory). In 2021 she received a promotion of the Music Initiative. In the same year she was heard as a feature on "Spice Pappen Parts" by DJ Reckless and MC Bomber. She had more features on "Mine are good" (2022) from TIS L, as well as on "Your Ass" (2023) by Yung FSK18 and rat boy. Her first own single "To get out" also appeared in 2023, followed by a feature on Pavelo & Schnells "Amicelli", which is rather atypical for Ikkimel from the genre (new Neue Deutsche Welle). On May 5, 2023, her debut EP "Aszendent Bitch" appeared. In 2023, the Four Music (Sony Music) label signed it. Her first release under this label, the single keta and riot produced by Barré, reached 89th place on the German charts. A year later, her song “Pay” from the EP did not say she was a stir. The party used the song for a radio election commercial for the European elections 2024, but Hessische Rundfunk refused to broadcast on You FM due to the supposedly youthful content. According to a legal proceedings, The spot was finally sent in the evening program that the party won before the Frankfurt am Main Administrative Court on Main. She gained further fame through the song "DEUTSCHLAND 🇩🇪" with Ski AGGU, which was released on June 27th during the European Championship 2024. The line "so I always look when I want that you fuck me ”caused a stir. The song was able to place in 18th place in the German charts. On February 14, 2025, Ikkimel published her debut album Fotze, which was positively accepted in criticism. Her approach to reject sexist language from a radical female perspective was particularly emphasized. The question of whether she does not reproduce the male look at female sexuality even addresses her in the song "Now more so" with the lines: "And is Ikkimel still feminist?
