Rae Sremmurd is an American hip hop duo, composed of Swae Lee (born June 7, 1995) and Slim Jimmy (born December 29, 1993) from Tupelo, Mississippi. They are perhaps best known for their single "No Flex Zone!", which has so far peaked at number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Similarly, their song "No Type" reached 17 on the Hot 100 November 2014. They are based in Atlanta, Georgia. "Rae Sremmurd" is "Ear Drummers" backwards, which is the name of their home label. Khalif "Swae Lee" Brown and Aaquil "Slim Jimmy" Brown grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi. According to an interview by Complex, at a point in their life they were homeless. Before they became Rae Sremmurd, they were in a trio going by the name of "Dem Outta State Boyz" which used to upload videos to social media like YouTube and song to Reverbnation, looking for recognition. They first became noticed by P-Nasty when his cousin had told him about them. P-Nasty had called them telling them he was interested in their music, and for them to make more music and get a video ready
